Good entry list for the race with the highest purse in Switzerland

With total prizemoney of half a million Swiss francs, White Turf surpasses all customary winning sums in Swiss racing sports. Promoted as the European championship on snow, the LONGINES Grand Prix of St. Moritz has the highest prize purse of any race in Switzerland with the fabulous sum of 111,111 Swiss francs. In the anniversary year it will run for the 79th time. Its great importance on the international equestrian racing scene is demonstrated by 30 entries in all that have so far been received in advance of the race. “13 horses from Switzerland have been entered, from Germany we have received 3 entries, as well as 2 from England and 12 from France”, explains Annina Widmer, racing responsible.

On Friday, February 24, 2017 the track remains closed for training, on Saturday, February 25, 2017 the training may be carried out along the outer rails of the straight track. We wish a succesfull day to all participants of the Night Turf.

In order to provide best conditions for the Night Turf the race track needs to be preserved and therefore the training tomorrow will be limited to the outer rails beginning from the turn. The track will be marked accordingly. Thank you for your understanding.

Race track in a very good condition

According to the racing presidents of galopp and trot the race track is in a very good condition. The races will be carried out with no changes. We wish everybody a beautiful and succesful race day.

Race track in good condition

According to the president of the racing commission the race track is in a good condition. The first 1-1.5m of the track next to the inner rails sre deeper than the rest.


The races will be carried out as planned.

Arrival on February 12 and 19, 2017

Please note that from February 6 to February 19, 2017 the Alpine Ski World Championship is taking place in St. Moritz. During this time heavy traffic and limited parking is expected in the Engadine. Therefore we strongly recommend to use public transportation. There will be extra trains on a daily basis ( From the Train station St. Moritz the White Turf is only 5 minutes by foot. In case that you arrive by car there are visitor parkings in Champfèr and Celerina at a flat fee of CHF 10/day. The parkings are open from 7am to 11pm. From the parking lots shuttles will bring you to St. Moritz.


Please calculate enough time for the journey.

Air Show Patrouille Suisse

Saturday and Sunday (February 11 and 12, 2017) between 11.00am and 11.30am an air show will take place over the area of the Ski World Championship. The noise will also be audible in the valley. We ask for your understanding in this year of this worldwide event taking place at the same time.
